Eligibility

To be eligible, a 2019 applicant must:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age by June 3, 2019
  2. Be eligible to work in the United States*
  3. Be a full-time college/university student during the Fall 2019 semester.
  4. Hold a GPA of 3.0 or above, Banner Research and ASU-Biodesign investigators will select applicants who appear likely to make the greatest research contributions to their laboratories or clinics. Program participants typically have a GPA above 3.35.
  5. Be available to work 40 hours per week from June 3, 2019 to July 25, 2019.
  6. Must successfully pass a background check.

*Only citizens and permanent residents of the U.S. as well as residents of U.S. territories and commonwealths are eligible to apply to this program. This includes citizen of Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands. U.S. citizens attending a foreign institution are eligible to apply. Neither Banner Research nor ASU will sponsor visas for this programNote to returning Neuroscience Scholars: There is a two summer limit on applying for the Neuroscience Scholars program. Scholar positions are highly competitive and only a limited number of positions are available to all applicants. Prior participation in the program does not guarantee you will be selected to interview for an open position.

I will be 18 years of age by the first day of the program, June 3, 2019.
I am eligible to work in the United States.
I will be a full-time student at a college or university during the Fall 2019 semester.
I hold a GPA of 3.0 or above.
I am available to work 40 hours per week from June 3 - July 25, 2019.
I understand that any information I submit to Arizona State University and Banner Research will remain the confidential property of Arizona State University and Banner Research including the application content, recommendation letters, reviewer notes, and any other information generated during the selection process.
I understand that Arizona State University and Banner Research will not provide me feedback on my application.
If I am selected for an internship, I understand and permit Arizona State University and Banner Research to use my images, words, research summaries, abstracts, posters, presentations, interviews or other content from my experience to promote the Neuroscience Scholars Program through media such as radio, television, newspaper, program collateral and Neuroscience Scholars website.
I understand that an incomplete application will not be considered or reviewed; and that it is my responsibility to ensure my references electronically submit recommendation letters before the deadline to complete my application.
I verify that all information I submit in my application is true to the best of my knowledge and ability and understand that an application submitted with knowingly false or misleading information will not be considered for the program.
